I have a Bernina at home but purchased the Janome Gem to take to classes and just love it! I have been told that the Janome is a better machine than the Brother. Good luck!

I also have the Babylock E ii and love it. Brother and Babylock are made by the same company.

Found a dealer that carries both Janome and Brother, running down there today to check them out.

Same here Donna, and I love her. 12 lbs. of pure dynamite! I also have a 6600 so I can interchange feet, but I think my 3160 has a better straight stitch than my 6600!

I have a Janome 3160 for my travel machine. It is not too heavy and does everything I need. At home, I have a Janome Horizon which I love. My longarm is a Janome Artistic 18. I have owned several different brands and Janome is my pick by far.

I'm in your area (Rapid City) and am wondering where you are going?

My Janome broke and I'm told it must be sent to the factory for repair. It is out of warranty. The repair is costly but replacement is more so. I was able to obtain the part, just need someone local to repair.

I just scored a Brother PC-420 for $180! My Babylock feet work on it and I love it so far! Turned out the auto thread cutter was a deal breaker for me. Who knew you could get so spoiled so quick!
