Show and Tell
On average, how many times a year do you participate in your guild's show and tell? What kinds of things do you bring? Only quilts? Smaller items such as tote bags, table runners, pillows?
Any opinions on what you like to see?

I attend one guild and two quilt clubs every month. I usually bring something to every guild and club, usually a smaller wallhanging or I'll even bring something I'm working on. Others do the same. There are actually a lot of people that don't bring anything, sadly. People also bring smaller projects like bags or table runners. We all like seeing whatever anyone wants to show. There's one woman, though, that makes doll clothes and donates the clothed dolls to a charity. Although we appreciate seeing a few, sometimes she'll bring like 20 dolls. That's a bit much I think.

I bring something almost every month as I do a lot of sewing. Quilts, bags, potholders, aprons, place mats, purses, jackets, wall hangings, pincushions, etc. The guild enjoys all types of creations including knitting, fleece items, etc. It's fun to share whatever you are working on with others.

i belong to 2 guilds and 3 groups. i usually bring something every time. i recall one recent month when there was a lot going on in the family and i didn't get much creating done. i felt weird just sitting there. we have members who never show anything, also. but the show n tell line is usually very long.

I'm on a finish your UFO (my guild calls them PIGS) projects so I usually show something every month. This hasn't been hard for me as many of mine were already completed tops. My good quilting buddy is a fairly new LA owner and between the two of us, I now have a pile of finished quilts which never ever happened before. It's not hard to have a monthly finish when your main part is binding and labelling.

I am a member of 2 groups. One meets monthly and the sole purpose is to bring what we have done. This is a small group of only 6 but it keeps me in stitches (no pun intended). The other group meets weekly and I often have something to show. I love these groups and have learned so much from then.

I usually show a quilt at Show and Tell during our monthly meetings. I was sick for our last meeting, so I will be showing 3 quilts at the meeting this evening. Most folks show quilts, but bags and jackets have also been shown. My favorite part of the meeting is Show and Tell. (If I don't show my quilts early, as in first or second in line, I chicken out. Everyone else has such beautiful quilts and theirs are always quilted by a long arm. I quilt on my domestic, usually SITD, which I really like the looks of. My quilts always look way different than any others. I have even been known to take a quilt and then not show it. But, I don't lose my nerve if I get towards the front of the line.)
