If using the dye catcher doesn't work, applique a gingham heart over the blocks. Or just a red heart, since you plan on throwing the scraps away.

Believe it or not, I had a black and white fleece blanket that I got in with some red prints in my wash -- and forgot the color catcher. The white part of the blanket was pink! I washed it again with more items (but no reds) with a color catcher and the pink washed out. Nice white on the blanket again. Maybe yours will do that also.

Soak the whole thing with a color grabber. It will work. I know, I did it with a hand qppliqued batik. Do not wring it out, just roll it in a towel, then let it dry flat.

If the suggestions already given don't work, Prewash fabric of the same as the blocks that bled, turn under and iron seam allowance, (I would use 3/8" as 1/4" is too difficult for me to iron) then blind stitch, or ladder stitch both squares over top of ruined squares and requilt each square. If you don't tell, I'll bet no one will ever notice! Patty
