I would like to make a quilted garment with silk batting so it will drape well. However, locally I can not find silk batting. I have never used silk batting before and would like some help from those of you who have used it and ordered it on line. Can you please tell me in your opinon which is the best silk batting and who you would recomend to order it from.

    Thank you in advance.

A very good friend of mine, he is very talented longarm quilter, uses silk batting a lot (for hand and machine quilting) and he loves it. He owns a quilt shop in Hamburg and the brand he uses is Tuscany. Unfortunately I don't know where to purchase it in US but you could just do an internet search and I am sure you will find it.

I use/sell the Tuscany...I also have some from walmart...there is a HUGE difference in the way the are made and how they drape...but for clothing(jackets) I prefer the cheaper walmart one..it is so thin and flimsy it drapes great!
