Did it maybe get put inside something else? I once lost an antique Christmas ornament for four years. It was in with a box of bows and ribbon. I know it is a pain, but you may find yourself tearing the sewing room (and others) apart again. If it has not left the house, you know it is there. I would get systematic and actually make a list of the places you have lookes. Sounds goofy, I know, but it worked for me when lost something once.

To make a very, very long story short:

Tony, Tony look around. Something's lost and can't be
    found.

When you can't find something, recite it like a mantra and
then let it go and do whatever you planned to do next.

I am so happy you found it. Now that you have I will tell you that I put all of DH's work uniforms in a garbage bag for the laundry and put it by the back door. He of course took the trash out and gone were all of his uniforms. Not as bad as all of the good jewlery but still cost a fortune to replace.

St. Anthony, St. Anthony, Please come around!
Something is lost and must be found!

This prayer has worked for me many times. Hope you find your quilt soon.

It is gorgeous! I am so glad that you found it. Bet your blood pressure was through the ceiling. Now that you have calmed down, you deserve a break. Go have a nice cup of hot chocolate.
