I have been told that there is a way of sewing large squares together to make a quilt top, then slashing the top, and resewing the pieces, so that you end up with the squares "magically" on point.
Does anyone know how to do this, or can direct me to a tutorial?

On Simply Quilts Alex showed a Square In A Square Quilt.
It would be a great crib/lap quilt.
Make a square in a square block. (The square cut 6 1/2 inches, add the 1/2 square triangles) or whatever size you want to start with. Can be a bigger block.
After piecing the square in a square. Cut it in half horizontally and vertically, going through the points of the center square. Mix and match the pieces you have cut from all the blocks. Sew 4 assorted pieces together to make a new block.
Add a border.
Not sure if this is what you wanted but it is an easy quilt top.

I like that we can give someone a link and they are happy we remembered or knew it was out there. Some of the threads have such good information in them, then the question pops back up. We get new answers and have the other answers from previous posts. I have so many bookmarks!
