Does anyone have a Singer 185? It is a three quarter size machine and is a green color. It came out in 1958. It is a straight stitch machine with reverse. This is the first one I have seen. The price on this machine varies, from low to high. It usually is in a case. I have come across one in a wood cabinet that looks like it is original. I thinking of buying but where will I put it lol

    and here a picture

I have one - I paid $40 for it - they are heavy as spit - you wouldn't think so to look at it, but it is HEAVY..

that said, I think it's a neat little machine..

From what i read about it, it has the same motor as the bigger machines. At 35 pounds it sure isn't a featherweight . Everything about this is 'heavy' metal and it is cute. :D Did you get the manual, accessories, and case with yours :?:

Yes, it came with all kinds of stuff, runs and everything...

the place also had a 185j in a cabinet (tan one) for $35 since I bought the portable turquoise one but it was FILTHY.. nasty dirty and the cabinet was in very poor condition...

I'm getting a little more discriminating since I've started my collection...
