Earlier this week at an estate sale I found a really nice old electric Singer model AE513199. Per Singer's registry list this should be a model 201 manufactured in 1935. She is working and for the past 20 years was a decoration in the house. She works with a knee lever. I was excited and bought her yesterday for $72. No manual or spare parts came with her. I brought her home and start looking for a manual on internet. I did not find anything that is a 201 that looks like her. She has a bullet shaped shuttle bobbins. She is portable weighing about 25 lbs. and has a really nice wood round top carrying case. the She has no numbers for her tension or stitch controls. She has a bullet shuttle bobbin. After checking the internet for 2 hours, I decided that she looks like a model 99-13 with knee lever per a photo on ebay. Has this ever happen to anyone else??? That the model registry number is not correct.
I was really excited about getting a 201. I already have a Singer 66 Red-Eye that I just finished refurbishing with Billy's help. The model 99-13 is just a smaller, heavy electric portable version of my 66 but with a different type of bobbin . Any suggestions of where to find a manual for my new 66. Thanks,

You looked up a five digit number, not six. Your machine is a 128. Yours was made in 1937, mine is a 1952. A 99 doesn't have the shuttle instead of a bobbin. You can find a manual at ISMACS of sew-classic.com I downloaded a copy of the original from sew-classic. The manual includes a treadle, which I think is the 127.

I hate to say I haven't cleaned my machine and sewn with it yet. I sewed a sample seam and it was very nice, but I won't use it heavily without cleaning it. I like the looks of it. It is just so cute. I have a feeling it will be a back up machine to the 301. I can't imagine that shuttle holds much thread.

The model 128 is a beautiful little machine and I love the Bentwood case. I have one that belonged to my MIL and she died in 1964. It still sews beautifully and is so simple in construction. You will still love her.

Because of the length of the shuttle bobbin, it probably holds more thread than a "conventional" bobbin. I haven't "measured" it, but it does hold a lot of thread.
