I have one of these lovely machines in a cabinet! My husband bought it for me because it is like the 221, but the feed dogs drop so that I can do FMQ.

The 301's are the best! Do you have the long bed or the short bed version? The short beds will fit into certain cabinets and card tables too.

I have a black short bed, a card table and a trapazoid cabinet for it. (to cabinet mount a 301, you need a special metal 'cradle' that singer made. You can find them for sale on ebay, etc.).

My card table is a really neat contraption I found off of craigslist. It's metal legs... and will fit a 301, 221 or a 403. I have a 403 and the 301, so it's pretty neat. You can check out singers website or ismacs website for tables/cabinets used with which machines.

Love the 301 great great machine. And the extra 3 or 4 pounds to carry doesn't bother me at all. Great machine for classes.

    Enjoy!

So happy for you that you'll be using the old 301.
I recently bought on ebay a 201-2 because that's what Mom had in the art deco cabinet I've inherited from her.
In checking both, I'd have purchased a 301 if it weren't for the fact that I wanted to replicate the machine Mom used all the while I was growing up. I'll be happy with the 201-2, and I'm betting you'll love your 301. So good you didn't get rid of it!

Love my 301 long bed. Purchased the shorter bed just so that I could put it in my featherweight table. Love the fact that the feed dogs drop. Actually hunting for a two tone so that I'll have a pair. Hubby is not sure how many machines I will stop at, they are multiplying :)

Yep, great machines! I bought two at the same time. Identical, my dear hubby asked" do you think you need two of them?" I said" yep, I do" and I did :)

You are one lucky lady. Prefer my 301 over my FW. It lives in my van and goes everywhere I go, I am always ready to unload it and sew.
