Default Singer 301a Estate Sale Find

Went to an estate sale yesterday and scored, big time. I found a 301a, in the case, with all attachments (including 3 buttonhole attachments and a zig-zag attachment) for $25. I've been wanting a featherweight, but am very happy with my new toy. I have three brother machines, an old Morse (it was a freebie on freecycle) and now the 301a.

The 301 is more versatile than the FW and I bet you will love it. I have 4 of them!

You will love her. Quiet, dependable, sews a great straight seam. Make sure you oil her up and lubricate her because she may have been sitting for a while and if she has the manual, all the directions are easy to follow. When I get a new one, I do that and let her sit overnight or a couple of days after the oil/lube application. Enjoy!!!

I really like my 301. The slant needle gives me a better line of vision than the Featherweight. It is a great machine to take to sewing sessions.
