So, while antique shopping on vacation, we happened upon an old Singer Treadle machine in pretty good shape, although the actual treadle seemed to be stuck. Probably just needs oil or something like that. Anyway, it was $200...is this too pricey? It seems that the older electrical machines are a LOT less.

I got a 1926 singer treadle at a yard sale for $25 this summer it runs great but the cabnet needs work it did not have any attchments or extras I have seen them on craig list in the Spokane area for $50 and up so I guess it would be how bad do you want it? is it worth that much to you?

It is too much for a machine that won't turn. I'd check your local CL.

Way too much, would have to be in "pristine" condition for that price!

I bought a Singer 66 Red Eye treadle in nice cabinet for $100 this year. it only needed new belt & cleaning. That was my limit & I waited until I found one at that price.

I think it's too much, especially since it doesn't work.

It depends on your idea of 'too much'. I think you could do better. But in your neck of the woods, there may not be as many machines available.

I've got one I'd like to sell. Wasn't thinking about asking that much.
