    Every quilt I have ever made has a single fold binding, and I have not heard a single complaint. Of course my hubby never uses his. He thinks they are too pretty to put on the bed and let the dog jump on it.....

    The reason that I usually use double fold binding is because I think they wear better and I find them easier to do (no raw edge to turn under), but they do use more fabric. I think it's just personal preference, and both ways make nice bindings.
