    I second that.

    The first place a quilt begins to wear out is at the edge. Therefore, French-fold binding is the preferred method so that if your quilt begins to wear, the edges are still protected.

    LOL Wife bought this HUGE lot of single fold bias binding on Ebay... did not ask me b4 buying sooooooooo I am trying to make use of it. Yes it would wear out quicker I agree.. I always use double fold till now

    Eag, you might want to try sewing 2 strips of matching bias together to get the double fold. Press it out flat, stitch and re-fold on the seam line into French-fold. That way you'd get the protection & use your wife's gift at the same time! Just a thought.
