I bought some at walmart, they were on clearance. I also buy sheets at the goodwill for a couple bucks, you can even square up the fitted sheets and use for a smaller size quilt! That is if you are making something thik a scrap quilt that it wouldn't matter if you used a second hand sheet.

Sears often has single sheets in a variety of thread counts during their "white sale" days by catalogue, although I can't always find them in-store.

If ou are going to hand quilt them then get a low thread count as the higher the count the harder it is to quilt. I know from experience.

Some Walmart's do have them. Fred's does. My primary source is estate or garage sales. However, I have several navy flat sheets I will sell. PM me/

The mail order catalogs usually sell separate sheets, but you can't feel the sheets before you buy them!

I live in Roanoke, ALabama,a rurally isolated area, the walmart here sells single sheets all sizes.
The brand is Mainstays but they are 200 thread count.

I was buying the flat sheets for backing at Wal-Mart and fabric also, but now the one where I live does not carry fabric anymore and now they have stopped having the single sheets. Guess when they have something that sells pretty good, they decide to discontinue.

I still get mine at Walmart, $4.00 for twin; $7.00 for queen; $8.00 to $11.00 for King. Color choice isn't the greatest, usually Burgundy, Navy, White and Sky Blue are all that's available.
