    What is the size of a quilt top for a queen size bed? And what e size should the backing be?

    It depends on your bed & size of your matterss. Backing needs to be a few inches larger or if sending to LAQ, whatever they require.

    You should consider how the overhanging part will look. To determine the drop, consider the thickness of the mattress. It can be from 5"-20". A quilt for an extremely thick mattress may need to have a little extra added.
