    Most of my quilts are lap quilts and are made with 12" squares. I never gave much thought to the size of the squares. I guess it's just personal preference. Here are a couple examples:

    I think it depends on the complexity of the block. A very simple 12" block would not look good to me in a twin or double. An exception might be a Sample Quilt.

    I want to thank each of you who responded to my question. I think you are all right. The blocks I have in mind are relatively simple, so I will use 10" blocks. Thanks a lot,
