I usually spray baste quilts that are bed-sized and over. In my tiny apartment, I don't have enough unoccupied floor space for a quilt (no matter how I move the furniture around.) Maybe I'm getting old, but the day after pin basting a quilt, I feel it in my legs and back from the squatting and reaching.
The main thing I hate about the spray, Sullivans is the one I've used, is that it has a noxious fume. I also worry if this substance will eventually discolor my quilt fabric over time.
