Default Sizing of lap quilt to King quilt

I have a wonderful pattern for a lap quilt that I would like to make into a King size quilt. Can anyone help me figure out the measurements and how to do this?

Thank you so much-appreciate any advice you can give me.

Not seeing the design it is difficult to give suggestions. However, depending on the design - just take the block size and add more for the larger quilt. Can you post a picture or at least describe it.

A picture would be helpful. You can make the blocks larger, add more blocks, or add more or wider borders.

measure the top of your bed and then decide how much drop you want. I usually just add more blocks and then adjust borders to get the size I want. as for fabric needed I would mutliply the lap top fabric requirements by 3 or 4. Better to have more than not enough.

    Default Sizing

No, unfortunately I do not have a picture. There are no repeating blocks; there are numerous rows of different geometric shapes. I guess I could repeat the pattern into a king size quilt.

Can someone tell me the size of a king quilt?
    thank you!!

Although king size quilts are cited as 120" x 120", you may not want that much of a drop.
What I've done is take the number of blocks of the lap quilt (say, 16) and divide that INTO the number of blocks I'd need for the large quilt (say, 25). That'd be 25 divided by 16, which is 1.56. I'd multiply the fabric requirements for the blocks by 1.75 (1 bit more than 1.56 so I'd have extra blocks for pillow shams, a bed runner for a guest room bed, or just more blocks to choose from).
