    Default Sizzix Big Shot Pro

Does anyone that has this know where I can find the best deal/ price for one of these. Is there a good online source or would you find good deals at a craft/quilt show.

Actually, walmart on line was the least expensive I've found. Have it shipped to your nearest store for free..

Check Overstock.com. I got my Big Shot Pro Quilting Edition cutter from them. They have both cutters the regular Big Shot Pro and the Quilters Edition with the longer tray to accommodate strip dies.

Sign up on the Sizzix website for their e-mails. Every Tuesday, and sometimes all week, they offer different discounts. I've seen up to 30-40% off offerings on total orders of a certain amount or highest prices item. Also Amazon has really good prices. If you have a Hobby Lobby near by, they also carry the Sizzix Big Shot and dies in the fabric section.

Not sure about the Sizzix, like the Accuquilt I don't think it needs stabilizer. The Cricut, Silhouette and Brother do need iron on backing and possibly a different knife to cut. I have a Big Shot and only emboss with it.

The one advantage to the electronic cutters - even the Cricut now, is you can get patterns from online rather than having to buy expensive cartridges or cutting dies.

That is a good price from Wal-Mart. Overstock has a 10% off coupon this weekend. The quilter' s version with the extended tray is $278.99.

I don't think the discount % off deals in the Sizzix emails apply to the cutters. They may have changed it, but it used to be in the fine print.

The one at overstock is a better deal if you're going to be using long dies. I think the extended stuff alone is close to $100. I bought mine with the extended pads/tray from overstock a while back.

This is why I bought the Quilters Edition. I can use the regular short dies ( Even Accuquilt dies) with the long trays but you can't use the short trays for the long dies. All of my dies are Accuquilt because I got them either when I bought my Accuquilt Go or on a great sale. I disliked the Go cutter and sold it, but kept the dies because I can shim them in the Sizzix BSP Quilters Edition.

The shipping box for the Quilters Edition is HUGE! If you can get free shipping jump on it!

things may have changed, but I believe sizzix quit making the purple westminster quilter's edition. The blue "quilter's edition" at overstock is $309.99 right now. The purple one is OOS at overstock and has been for a long time. There is a $25 off $250 coupon there and a 12% off for new customers. this link is supposed to give 10% off and I *think* free shipping but even if there's no free shipping, overstock shipping is only around $3.
