Default Skipped & long Stitches APQS Ultimate ll

Can any please help me? I have an Ultimate ll and I'm quilting a t-shirt quilt for a customer, Every time I start quilting in the t-shirt area I get long spaces between my stitches and then my thread breaks. I've retimed my machine, cleaned it, adjusted the tension, changed both the tread and needle, but nothing seems to help. I have to have this quilt done before Christmas and I'm starting to get stressed out.

You said you changed the needle, what size/type? That is my first guess.

Maybe those who have made t-shirt quilt are better voiced on this.

My Tin Lizzie did that and I had to lower my presser foot.
