Hi - I'm going on a quilt retreat Thanksgiving weekend (Thurs - Sunday) ... we've done this before and had a blast. I'd like to make each of my fellow "retreaters" a small gift ... but WHAT????

    I'm open to suggestions please!!!

A couple of fat quarters tied with ribbon or another stip of fabric, pin cushion, a mini block made into a pin or a few pieced together into a bookmark. A lot of people here have posted that Harbor Freight company has started getting the rotary cutter blades in again (very inexpensive, marketed as carpet cutter blades), maybe if you have one near you, you can go pick up several packages. I believe they are $1.99 for a package of two.

One shop near me, has "chocolate thimbles" in a little box.
I mean really, how perfect would that be. See if your local
Candy shop has special choc. ideas. They have it for golf,
and guy stuff, even cell phones. Check them out!

Go to Walmart, buy inexpensive composition books and make covers for them. A friend made one for me and I love it! http://plainjane21.blogspot.com/2010...-tutorial.html

one of the things I use most... in all areas of sewing/crafting/quilting is a 1 yard length of pretty ribbon ( or could make it out of a mini strip of quilting)..... with a pair of embroidery scissors tied on to one end with a contrasting ribbon... the other end has a small stuffed piece of the same pretty ribbon ( or mini quilt piece) for a pin/needle cushion. I have made these over the years for many of my quilting / crafting buddy...

How about a snap purse . Those cute little purses that are made with a tape measure. Gals could use it to store thimbles and small scissors, etc.
