Small quilting frame, large quilt
Question: I am using a plastic quilting frame to hand quilt. Large quilt, what do you use to keep the extra quilt up off the floor? Tried binder clips, one left rust on my material and will not use them again. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe spread a sheet on the floor instead?

Since I don't have any pets or small children I don't worry about it. when I am working on the quilt it drops onto the floor, when I am done for the day, I pile it up onto the frame. It's going to be washed, so not concerned.

I spread a large sheet on the floor. When done for the day, you can pull the sheet edges up to top frame and protect the entire project...pets can't go under. Use pony/ pinch clamps to hold corners/ edges of sheet like a big bundle.
If your quilt is huge, you can buy a protective plastic drop sheet meant for painting at hardware stores.

When I use to hand quilt, I had a laundry basket on the floor and the excess quilt stayed in it. When I was done quilting for the day, the whole quilt went in the laundry basket and I could put it away.
