    Default snaps or velcro?

I have been making bibs for the new babies in our family and have been using velcro for a closure. Do you think it would be better to use snaps? It would be easier, but I'm not sure what new mommies want. Any suggestions?

Have you ever made the bibs from finger-tip towels with the ribbing around the neck hole?

(Babies probably are less than thrilled with something going over their heads, but - - -)

I have problems with Velcro losing its stickiness. Any suggestions for minimizing that problem?

I am babysitting my 8 month old DGS and have had no problem with the velcro. I think that the velcro gives you more leeway when the baby's neck gets bigger.

I made a tutorial for a baby bib that tied. The suggestion I got was to change the ties to velcro as this is quick release in case the baby gets it hooked on something.

My DDs always asked for ties when I made baby bibs for grands.

I prefer large snaps or ties. I do not care for how the velcro wrinkles and looses stickiness after multiple washings.

I never liked the velcro because it would stick to everything in the wash. which would ruin the cloths it got stuck to. I would do snaps if it were me.

I use the plastic snaps on things I make for GKs. they hold up quite well.

I think it would depend what you are putting it on.

I think the large plastic snaps are better. If a child has any hair it can get caught in the Velcro.
