I understand Walled Lake got about 12" in the last 24 hours. How much did you get?

I don’t do much sewing in the summer as I would rather be outdoors but I look forward to snowy winter days so I can spend guilt free hours in my sewing room.

I make quilts year around. I mainly take smoke breaks outside, don't smoke inside. I water hanging baskets in summer. I take two small dogs outside year around. All that is enough outside for me. Did all outside years ago.

I generally start quilting in the middle of August and run through February. March and April, I usually crochet, June, July and the beginning of August, filet crochet, cross-stitch or tat. My younger sister's quilt though will probably be year round, there's an annual fall festival in town in September and they always have a quilt show. I'd like to put hers in the show when I get it done.

About 8 inches. Can't complain because the City plowed the residential streets and main streets are dry.

    Smile Let it Snow!

How exciting to wake up to falling snow. As for me, I do more quilting in the winter months. Please send your snow to NC. Happy quilting and stay warm!

Default It is a great day to sew

It is a great day to sew.

My winters consist of cold fronts dropping temperature for a few days before returning to pleasant 70s.
It actually dipped into the 30s around here yesterday!

I sew all the time it seems.
In the summer, I quilt in the morning and go to the beach in the afternoon.

I'm a Weather Wimp. I see that "S" word, along with the "I" word, "B" word etc.. I start to shiver and whine. One would think I'd just been tossed into a 10 ft snowdrift. I'm really that bad.

I have to say like many, I save quilting for inclement weather as I love playing in the dirt, otherwise known as "gardening." I love crocheting and knitting in the evening while watching sports or movies and sewing in the daytime when the natural light is perfect.

I find it funny that whether I am home on Vancouver Island or in the RV in Arizona, I have a quilting group on Thursdays. Spring, Summer, and Fall sees me more in the garden but even if I get no quilting done during the week, I am always there on Thursdays.
