I have seen snowmen using the thermal underwear fabric and flannel. Use a cotton backing and fusible to apply the shape to the quilt, it will make it so the print fabrics won't show through. I have a collection of of fabrics to make a snowman quilt--some day.

I have always used white warm & natural. Nice looking snowmen/women if I may say so!

What an interesting idea. I really like the idea of extra texture. My daughter wants me to make the back of her mermaid quilt a "Frozen" quilt, so it can be flipped depending on the season. Maybe I'll do the snowflakes I was planning in fleece!
