I think some are insulation in closets! Not mine gonna use it till it is a rag! And my grandkids will keep me making quilts because they are blanket lovers!

Reading your post has made my morning!!:) You handled the situation perfectly in my estimation - she deserved all she got, & more. People never cease to amaze me with the intestinal fortitude they exhibit in public - & almost always w/out engaging their brain 1st, as someone stated. I hope you always look back on that experience w/a good hearty laugh:) I know I will! And just for the record, I too LOVE to see my quilts USED!! I give a lot as gifts with strict instructions that the reipient is to USE them & if they wear out I'll happily make another for them. If I was into 'un-usable art, I'd sculpt instead of quilt! lol

We hear people complaining all the time about how their quilts are being mistreated. This lady surely knows the amount of time and money that goes into these quilts and wasn't going to stand by quietly. I probably would have handled it differently and just laughed after she finished. I thought it was hilarious.

You know the real quilt police by the quilted handcuffs they carry. If she didn't have those, she was an imposter. :P

Wow, fast thinking in what to say, I would have been so shocked I wouldn't have had words to say! Maybe she made someone a nice quilt sometime and it was not appreciated, but to take it out on you!!!!!! You own it, its your property, you can do what you like!!!!!! Lace

Good for you! Sounds like you handled it perfectly. Except I would have added that the next time she touches a stranger like that, be prepared to have charges filed for battery! LOL

I don't know what I would have said to the lady who criticised you. I think your comeback was perfect.
I tell the people I give quilts to that you can do anything you want with it. It's yours now. Just please don't throw it out while I'm alive. :)

Wow! I am stunned! I suppose that in a way it was a compliment that she valued your work so much.

I'm never good with comebacks; I would have just stood there stunned! I am amazed at how people take it upon themselves to tell others what to do. Especially when it doesn't concern them and nobody is being harmed.
