I was at JoAnn's last night looking through the quilting magazines. Along with US issues, there were Irish and Australian quilting magazines in the mix. Talk about being overwhelmed!

Some seem to have more advertising than information. I know selecting magazines is a matter of personal preference and issue feature topics.

    My questions are these:

 Which magazines are consistantly good with tips, tutorials, accurate patterns etc?

 Which do you buy occasionally and which are subscriptions?

 Do you subscribe to any online "magazines" like "The Quilt Show?"

    Thanks.

Those are tough questions - I don't subscribe to an on-line magazine although I've toyed with the idea. I currently have subscriptions to two quilt mags which I have not renewed. I've been disappointed in the content. Now I prefer to go to the bookstore & look at all the latest issues and maybe select one or two if I see something I'd really like to try or an interesting article.

I have not subscribed to any of the quilt magazines for a few years, but the Australian Patchwork & Quilting used to be one of my favorites. They were quite expensive, but good.

I have had a number of subscriptions over the past 5+ years but I am no longer renewing any of them because I can find so much more information online and on this board.

I dont subscribe to any, I try to get them used at the thrift store, or rummage sales. I really like the older ones best.

i was getting every one i could find or heard of. i'm letting them all run out except for fons and porter because i like the format. when i go to barnes and noble i look through them all and see if i want any and get them individually. they all seem the same to me most of the time. i either create, copy or find a freebie online.

I buy individually, but have more on hand than I will ever use, was looking thru some old ones and found an article on a process I had been wondering about. So I shop in my sewing room first.

I don't usually buy new magazines, I get mine from the library used book store or yard sales, so sorry I can't help you.

I subscribe to Quilter & gift local library with a subs. Our LQS has at least one or two classes with patterns from that mag. Each Dec. I look through mags I bought off the rack & whichever one I used most patterns from - I subscribe to it.
