Michael what a very generous gift you received and so thoughtful of you to finish the quilt for her.
I love freecycle, I am usually the one giving away more then taking but just yesterday I received a dirt devil vacum [mine just died] and carpet cleaner that don't appear to be all that old...I was so jazzed, I have been wanting a carpet cleaner but just couldn't find what I felt was a good sale ...free is the best deal, love it. She has little kids so I told her I would keep her in mind when my daughter starts giving away my GD's clothes.

I give to freecycle, but have never asked for anything. Think I'll try and see what I get. I'll try not to be embarrased if I get a lot of stuff.

Go to Freecycle.org There is SO MUCH out there that can be upcycled/freecycled...and people come to your home (or designated place) to pick it up - OR you go to their home (or designated place) to pick up. Certainly makes MANY PEOPLE happy...the giver and the getter.

Michael don't feel embarrassed. You thought of it. You went and picked it up, cleaned it and sorted it. You are nice enough to finish off the started quilt for its owner. And you were nice enough to tell everyone here how to use freecycled add. Have fun making anything you want. You deserve it. But please post a picture for us to see! Have Fun!

that is great we have a freecycle here and as soon as material or quilting supplies go on the list it is gone there must be a lot of quilters around here. one time i was fortunate to get some material and the lady gave me a big black garbage ba full of cottons she said she was tired of looking at them and anted new stuff i was overwhelmed
