Me too. I'm going to start checking regularly for fabric and quilting supplies. Or maybe post a Wanted ad.

    Thanks for the idea!

That's a super haul ... how much fun that must have been to go home, see and feel your treasures and a quilt top to boot!

I need to check freestyle a friend of mine did that all the time and I'd forgotten about them. Thanks!

You did awesome!! It amazes me that people will just give away that amount. A few weeks ago my husband called to answer an ad for teapots for sale. (I collect them) When we went to see what she had to sell we got to talking and found that the woman was moving and wanted to get rid of most of her things...including her fabric. She mentioned it in passing that she would sort through and give me a call to see if I wanted any that she did not want to take with her. A few days laer she called and had four copy paper boxes and two large black trash bags filled with beautiful materail that she insisted I take all of. I am still sorting through it all but WOW what a blessing to recieve so much!!

I too asked for fabric on freecycle and got two large bags. I would like more, but haven't heard from any others. I never thought of asking for quilting books. I will do that tomorrow and see what comes up. Last week I gave away lots and lots of craft supplies, ie glitter, paints, etc. The lady was very happy. I decided to give up crafts and concentrate on fabric. So my craft room will now become my sewing room.

The nice thing about the freecycle website is that people
who get the fabric, etc, are doing their part to save all the fabric from being thrown away. The more that we can recycle, the better the landfills will be. No one should feel badly about being given alot of free fabric. Make some
quilts for the less fortunate and everyone wins. Eiltcoq.

What a nice thing to do! It says alot about you that you would do something so thoughtful as to get that quilt top quilted for the person who gave you all that fabric. Bless you.
