I just finished my 4th bag and, in all honesty, it takes me a week to make them from start to finish. Day 1 I select fabric, cut and fuse, Day 2 I quilt the front top/bottom, Day 3 I start sewing pieces together, etc., then there's probably a couple days I don't do anything. ;) I like to take my time and have fun doing them. They are a nice break from doing large quilts.
For the bottom I have been cutting up an old warped mat board then making a sleeve for it to match either the lining or the pockets.
Have fun and enjoy!

Thanks, everyone! This has really helped me get a handle (no pun intended ;-) ) on those beautiful bow tucks bags. I'm sure I'll be the type that takes somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 hours to a week to make one. Think I'll wait and see if I can finish the quilt I am working on first!
