I am no help, I am weak. I just ordered 24 fat quarters of Amy Butler Daisy Chain (had a heck of a time finding it) to make a Turning Twenty quilt. Once again my inspiration was TwistedStitcher. This is the second quilt I have made like hers. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-19936-1.htm

Do what makes you happy. I just suggest shopping around for the fabric try to get the best price possible. That is what I do so I won't feel bad, I love to save money while being happy!

Try quiltshops.com, ebay or etsy.com (thats were I found my fabric).

It is so tough to want certain fabrics but not know for sure whether or not you should order them. LOL Been there & done that. LOL I always ask myself these questions and decided from there.

    1. Can you afford to pay cash for them?
    2. Will you be really sorry later if you cannot find them?
    3. Have you got an idea as to how you want to use them or a plan for them?
    4. If money is no issue, then get to ordering. LOL And enjoy.

I love that stuff! I think you should do it. (Did you really expect other advice from this board?) Amy Butler fabrics sell out pretty quickly. I think I saw it on Hawthorne Fabrics for $8 a yard- http://hawthornethreads.com/fabric/d...my_butler/love

They give a discount if you buy more, too.

    Heh. You guys are awesome.

My daughter says that I need to go to Quilter's Anonymous. QA for short. Gives whole new meaning to the term Q&A session, doesn't it?

Mkay...I think I'm gonna go for it. Here's why:

Just did the taxes. Can pay cash.
I really *do* get a pitty-pat in my heart every time I see it.
    Free pattern.
15% off at Fabric.com, with free shipping = $7.64/yd. So, it's less right? RIGHT? RIGHT?
    It's beautiful.
    It's within my skillset.
I'm sure I'll have scraps to make "something else" with...
    K...there may be more....

That is what I would do! I search sites for better prices, get the order ready so I can see shipping, and then buy from the site with the best price. I usually use a solid Kona cotton for the backing (Joann's coupon put to good use!)

No matter how gorgeous a quilt would be when finished, I need to know who is getting it before I buy a specific line. My stash is full of patriotic prints and great deals on backing. My focus fabric stash is full of great deals from closeouts, sales, etc. My personal "absolutely love that fabric" purchases usually are Asian fabrics, which will go for personal quilts, IF I EVER FIND THE TIME TO MAKE THEM!

    Have fun!

I LOVE Amy Butler! I just bought the pattern and the identical material for the Amy Butler Birdie Handsling Bag for my DD. She loves purses and she was thrilled when I showed her this... I'm hoping to get it done over the next week! I say go for it .. you only live once...
