Congrats. My son and daughter in law are not able to have children of their own. They are working on adopting at this point. So we are in the waiting stage. Do not know when, what sex or what age at this time. I am having to learn patience. I am so itching to make something for this child that God will be sending to us. You are so blessed that you are able to have grandchildern. God bless you.

Here is a project that a new grandmother to be might like to make. It is from Coats and Clark and is a mini diaper bag that can easily be carried on a stroller or for a quick trip somewhere.

I plan to make it as a gift for another first time grandmother to be.

Having a grandbaby is so special and you will have such a special relationship! I have 29 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and I absolutely love each one of them!!! Baby quilts and handmade toys and books will add a whole new aspect to your sewing. Have fun with it.

Hi Makin...welcome to the board! You're going to love it here and you'll not only teach us alot but you'll learn alot, also. Grandbabies are so fun to sew for. You'll have a whole new world of fabric choices (kiddy motif's) that are irresistable. Enjoy!

You might be interested in checking out the WN. and OR Open house thread...we'll be having an open house in Salem at another member's home on March 28th. You may have already been notified of the get-together. It'll be so fun. We've had one other in Beaverton and 7 of us attended.

We are having a grandson at the end of May. The kids are doing the room in sock monkey design so they want a baby quilt with sock monkey fabric. I have the fabric but just haven't come upon the perfect pattern yet.

How about using lots of colors? I just finished a split rail in 23 different colors and it is so much fun to look at!
