This picture appeared in the monthly Battalion newsletter to families which my DD sent to me the day before our sew-in for Bert's men's quilts.

I posted it with the large informational poster, flyers, and a donations jar in the lobby of the Bedford Welcome Center, where over 40 people came to complete the tops we've collected for the soldiers in Afghanistan.

There were 4 members from this board there this weekend, but I'll let them identify themselves if they wish. We completed at least 20 quilts, made several backings which had to be pieced, and yards and yards and yards of bindings. There are also several basted tops waiting to be quilted, and three ready to be bound. A huge effort and a great success!! The food was wonderful, the door prizes were plentiful, and the fellowship and new friends made were so worthwhile. I wish you all could have been part of it!

A squad from Bravo Battery prays together before patrol duty. DD is told they do this every time they go out.
