Does the speed you sew at effect the tension? I've been having some problems, and am wondering if I'm just going too fast.

The question is are you piecing or machine quilting? Piecing can matter, with the thickness of the fabric, maybe use a little larger needle, if machine quilting I was taught to use a fast foot and a slow hand, hope I helped.

Thanks dude... I'm piecing at the moment. The material is thicker than the last lot I used, maybe that's my problem. I've just had a play on some spare bits and wound the tension way past where I usually have it and it seems to be working well, touch wood.

I didn't realise there was so much involved, I might have a bad needle in there.

If you are sewing thicker fabric you will need a larger needle and longer stitch length.
