Question spinoff- selvage users - question about washing of projects for non prewashers

If you are NOT a prewasher, do you find that your selvage projects wash funny? I have some prewashed selvages but I also sew a lot with precuts which means any accompanying yardage does not get prewashed. I wonder if I put these in a quilt, will it get all wonky when it's washed?
