    The only part I pin is around the edges. I have had quilts set for a month before I could quilt them and the basting spray was still holding.

    I spray baste the back to the batting and pin. Then spray baste the top to the batting and pin again. Seems to hold everything in place.

    I would start with my SID in the center...when you have done a section, flip the quilt over and smooth it in all directions (just to make sure). You might find some extra fabric that needs to be picked up and resmoothed as you go. Just lift it up and restick it...no need to respray...just reposition if you find areas that aren't to your liking.
