Here is a remedy that I just got from somewhere recently - I haven't tried it, but a friend did and she said it took out old stains on a tablecloth.
2T lemon juice (fresh is best)
1 Qt Buttermilk
1 Gal water
Soak a long time rinse thoroughly
Also laying it out in the sun on a clean sheet to dry helps too.
