Wink Stained Glass Wallhanging Progress and Question

Wanted to keep you updated on my progress. The deadline is fast approaching!
Also a question - the quilt portion of the wallhanging is quite stiff, must be the double sided fusible interfacing. I am glad that it is a bit stiff because I am thinking that it will hang straighter. OK, my question is, should I use the same interfacing on the border? If I don't, will it hang straight, or will it be wavy?
All I can tell you, I am in way over my head. I thought that this was going to be easy; boy was I wrong! But so far I do like it.
I think my miters came out OK, thanks to lots of help from the internet. It's the first time I have mitered a border.
Just thought of another question. I am using the same fabric for the back. Should I bring the backing to the front and use it for the binding, or do you have other ideas. I can use all the help I can get!!
Thanks in advance!

This is beautiful. Your use of color and value with the shadowing behind the cross radiating to lighter shades is quite inspiring. If your border is not wavy now it should be fine once the quilt is completed.

For binding, I am a bit of a traditionalist and prefer the look of a separate binding that is machine stitched to the front then folded to the back and hand stitched down. To me it just finishes things off nicely and neatly. You have so much work and love invested in this piece now, why cut corners at the last stage?

I would think that if it is not wavy now, it should be okay. By the way, I love your colors.

It is beautiful. I would use the same interfacing in the border. You are doing a marvelous job. I would like to know the name of the pattern if you do not mind.
Keep up the good work!

Love it. I am with feline fanatic on doing the binding. I think it is easier and neater looking with a separate binding.
