I have a Standard treadle from the late 1800's that I use all the time - I love it and prefer to use it over my other (electric) machines. Standard Sewing Machine Company was bought out by Singer in the late 1920's, If I remember correctly they continued to make Standard's until around 1931. My Standard threads left to right and goes around the tension disc one and a half times. The hand wheel goes back instead of forward. I would get another if I came across another one.
