    You will never believe what I thought that button was for.I thought it ws for handicapped people who did not have use of there legs.Yes,I am a nurse so it made sense to me.

    I have used it on occasion, but I feel more in control using the foot pedal.

    If I use my start button I can stop it by hitting my foot pedal also...don't have to hit the stop button

    The start stop button is there for mostly embroidery part of the machine.
    Or the stop for the ending of a set of fancy stitches.
    Or I have used it for patching with the auto patch...

    Love to have the control with the foot pedal..I sew either barefoot or with socks (depending on season) and have no problem.
