Once I tried it - never went back to the peddle! Do try.

I love it and always use it. I have worn off the arrow on the button.

I use it for the embroidery, but I like the control of the foot pedal when I am sewing something.

I only use it when I do machine embroidery. I've been sewing using a foot pedal for so many decades now, it's what I'm comfortable with and have never even tried to use the Start/Stop button for regular sewing. I can't see why it would not work well, though, with a little practice.

I have a Janome 10000 upgraded to the 10001 and it has the start/stop button and I dearly love it. I will admit it took a little getting used to it, but now when I sew on one of my other machines I am always trying to start and stop it with a button and the button isn't there on the other machine. Use it continuously for two or three days if you are doing a lot of sewing and you will get used to it.

It's kind of like getting used to a thimble. I could never wear a thimble and a quilting teacher told me to put it on and wear it around the house for three days and I would be able to use it. I had by doubts, but decided to try it and it worked, now I can't even embroider without it hardly and I never used to wear one at all.

I have a Bernina 440QE and I use the start/stop button with my BSR. I can't get used to the foot pedal when using the BSR.

I use it for the fancy stitches. The fabric seems to feed more evenly when I do.

I only use it when I am sewing longer seams. If I have short seams I don't feel I have the control I need. I never use it when I am machine quilting. I much prefer the foot pedal overall.
