It can depend on your age or where you live. I was shocked to find out when we moved to the EU in 1983 that not one of my British friends over the age of 40 knew how to drive. It was a cultural thing.
My Mom never learned because my father didn't want her to know how and be able to be free.

My hubby doesn't complaine about mine ... once in awhile he will say something about how I am going to need another big cabinet for more fabric....and my answer is always that I can't, because I don't have any room for another cabinet. I have a bedroom ( was my daughters) that is MY ROOM.....and it is full of quilting things....I do have a roll top desk that could be moved to some other spot, but I love that desk........m hubby found it and bought it and then did the total staining job on it....one wall of this room is entirely covered by book shelves, so great place for all the books and magazines,and fruit baskets full of fat quarters, etc (small items).....mine asks "are we gonna get something to eat around here today?"
