Did you make your own or buy one of the pre-made ones?
    How do you make one?
    They make a kit.

I made mine out of Heat resistat table pad material that I bought at Hancocks. It is green foam like material with a plastic backing that is heat resistant to 500 or 550 degrees. I covered some very thin pressed board and covered both sides just like the Steady Betty. It has worked for me very well. The material was 6.99 a yard and I used my 40% off coupon. I still have enough to make a couple of more. Someone on QB came up with this and I am so glad they did...

I think I'll give this a try, too. Thanks for the tip!

I love mine and am so glad I bought it. It sure makes pressing easier and the squares and strips hold their shape so much better.

Hmmm I'll have to go on the prowl for some of this material. I've been lusting after a Steady Betty for almost a year now, and just have not been able to bring myself to pay the price!
