You use Microtex for piecing or FMQ? What about straight line quilting or SID?

I use the Microtex 70 for FMQ...seems to go through everything really easily...for SID or straight line I use a regular 70 or 80 depending on my thread! I prefer a 50WT thread though!

I posted before your second post. I was using 70 and 80 sewing needles. I changed to an 80 quilting needle and am doing much better. The block I have trouble is the pinwheel block. I think it has too many thick seams. Schmedtz brand.

I was thinking the same thing over those pad type things that Nancy's Notions is selling - same idea a fabric filled with a sharpener stuff - - - why wouldn't that sift into your machine.

I wondered if that was a good idea, esp. if you have a computerized machine, for it says to even keep those magnetic pin catchers away from the machine.

I thought maybe it was not a good idea for those fine metal shavings may just not be the best thing.

Thank-you for more input on the topic.
