    Usually with FMQ you follow curvy lines that you have marked with the stencils with a darning foot. If they are straight, use your walking foot instead. You will find that border stencils will not always exactly fit in your border so you either have to figure out what to do, add another repeat of pattern or squeeze or extend between the repeating pattern. On darker fabric, I always use the powder chalk in a wheel. Never liked the pounce chalk.
