I have no other comment than WOW - you quilters are a helpful wealth of information!

Ask a question and someone has an answer!

The first clue in Bonnie Hunter's new mystery quilt is for TIS units. She has included lots of helpful information on making this block, including different techniques and videos on how to use the TriRecs rulers and how to piece the units once cut out.
this my first time using the rulers and I have enjoyed them.

I have done this with good success - takes a little bit more time but worth the effort to get the points exactly right Keep us posted about your progress

Oh, I forgot to post my pic. I'll be right back. It's not perfect but I'm going to keep it. After working on it for 2 days we have history! I also found a similar pattern that guarantees no points will be cut off. I'm going to try it tomorrow.

Draw the design on graft paper and use that as a test for the accuracy of both cutting and piecing. It could be either in the cutting or piecing or pressing. You must discover where the problem is. I have discovered that when sewing triangles, and in your case, diagonal seams you must do the scant quarter inch. Go back and test measure each and report back. To ask, what am I doing wrong is not enough info.

Have you watched the extra video by Missorie star company on the periwinkle star project.
The triangle on the sides she over laps to the opposite side of the centre triangle then same with otherside which when pressed open leaves a good 1/4inch from the base of centre,
    Hope this helps.

I also used Eleanor burns rulers and book called the "Tennessee Waltz and those are the blocks she made. They came out great.
