Default still looking at the 8900 Janome?

I am still looking at the Janome 8900, went to the dealer and she had one with the red front I tried it and it sewed great... I forgot to ask her what the difference is between the red front and the gray front one, the price is different the red one that she called a limited edition was 2999.00 where the gray one was 3999.00...I will go back on Monday and play so more and ask her them..

Boy that is a lot of money but I guess you get what you pay for...

Maybe someone would know what the difference is between the machines..Thanks

This is driving me crazy all this machine shopping..LOL

The red face plate was a special edition and is discontinued. They might just want to get it gone to make room for new products.

Don't let it drive you crazy! Instead enjoy the shopping, and all the options available to you! Take your time with your decision, because it's a lot of money, you'll live with it for a long time, and you want to be happy with your choice. Think of all the creativity it will unleash in you!

Are you sure they are both 8900's? My 7700 had the red front and my 8900 has the gray front. Biggest advantages to the 8900 over the 7700 are the snap off feet for accu feed feet and the snap off throat plate.

That's what I was thinking. I didn't think the 8900 had a red front. I've seen the 7700 with the red front.

Yes it is a 7700 limited edition that has been discontinued. I would get the 8900 or I picked the 8200 which is the same machine but with fewer decorative stitches. I don't use those fancy stitches and the machine was much cheaper. I got mine at a quilt show for the one that was being demonstrated for only $1999 with same warranty. When I picked it up he had only used the machine for less than 1 hour. Great deal for me.

I agree with JustabitCrazy. Make sure that the one you have been sewing on is what you thought it was. That is a lot of money and you don't want to make a mistake.

That price of 3999.00 for the 8900 is quite high. There have been many on this board who have gotten this machine for 2999.00 or even less. Look up this machine in "search".
