i have the stitch in the ditch foot for my janome and i actually prefer to use the even feed foot.

I use my walking foot for stitching in the ditch and straight line quilting... :) I have the stitch in the ditch foot for my Janome as well and it doesn't work so well for quilting, you end up with the top layer shifting because it's not being evenly fed. :)
