I just started thinking that I needed to put light colored scraps together...then dark... it kind of grew from there. These are great. They sit neatly on the shelf, hold a lot, are sturdy and FREE. What a deal. I guess I could dress them up with the color family of scaps they hold etc. when I start getting enough scraps to actually call them families.
And because they are sort of rectangular in shape like the coffee tins they provide more storage space than a round plastic container.

I love plastic containers and little odd-shaped boxes...I save them up and then use them as gift containers! The lables peel off, so I wrap them, label-style, cover the top, and its an instant gift box! My latest favorites are the large cleaning wipe containers. I roll up scarves or mittens, even baby blankets with tissue paper and slide them into the container, pop the lid back on, cover the top with fabric or paper, add a bow and it's good to go!

I like to use baby wipe containers. They are a good size and you can use them for a lot of sizes without smashing them. And, it seems I always know someone who has a baby or grandbaby. Also I keep the wipes in my car and bathroom for quick cleanups.

Before diet time, I went through a lot of kraft mayo. I use the skinny containers with the flip lids to store scraps.

I use Huggies baby wipes for removing makeup (cheaper than makeup removers) then use the empty boxes for storing my various size precut blocks marking on the end 2", another 2 1/2", another 3", and so on. And they line up on the shelf nicely ready for a quilt top or what ever.

I wish I knew someone who had babies. I never used the wipes, my kids broke out with rashes, me too. I guess I'm double whammied because I refuse to wear make-up either.

I will keep my eye out for other things to use. I tend toward things that are more square (they are more space efficient and stack well). At my house... coffee comes home in a bag to be ground so those containers are out ...don't do the mayo thing... WOW, I've got a boring pantry.
