Will 104 be too short when I see majority of sites selling 108?

That will depend on the size of your quilt. If you are sending it to a longarmer, most of us like 6 - 8" extra in each direction - so if your quilt was 96" wide or less, the 104" should work.

I've never paid anything remotely resembling $22 for backing fabric. I consider $15-$18 to be full retail price, so I wouldn't pay any more than that. Mary Jo's, Marshall Dry Goods, and CT have decent prices. I usually buy mottled colors of backing. I dislike floral fabrics. I have bought batiks- they cost a little more than the mottled colors.

    Thanks in advance.
I have read thru all of the posts, and did not see one for WEBFABRICS…….She has a huge selection of 108" wide backing fabrics as well as a large selection of wide batiks………..She uses the postal service one rate shipping, so her costs are very reasonable…………she carries top quality LQS quality fabric, and her costs are really reasonable!….She also ships internationally………. If you are looking for her site, remember it is DOT NET not DOT COM………….

She also has a brick and mortar store, but the web-based business is her bread and butter……Great service….Wonderful Shop!!

Fabric.com is my go to online store for backing. They have a good selection, shipping is free with a $35 order and service is great!
